Engineering challenge

A group of Year 9 students found out what it is like to be an engineer by taking part in a Rolls Royce Challenge. Chris Tague - A mechanical engineer from the Rolls Royce Aerospace company in Derby talked to students about what engineering involves and the possible career paths. They also took part in a jet engine technical challenge, which involved working in groups to put a model engine together from scratch! Chris is the Schools Mentor for this year and is helping with the ' Year of Enquiry' project for which the school is one of nine finalists of the Rolls Royce Science Prize.
The students where really inspired by the activities and as always were a credit to the school.
