Cross Phase Science Workshop

Students from across the trust worked together on science projects on April 14th. Children from all the Bury Trust schools completed challenges from each of the science disciplines. They designed and tested bridges, extracted DNA from strawberries and used chemicals extracted from plants to produce a piece of art!

It was fantastic to see all the pupils working so well together. Some of our older students acted as science ambassadors - a new scheme that we have implemented that recognises the potential that our pupils have to become leaders of the future. Not only does it improve self confidence in the subject but the pupils also gain a range of other skills such as leadership and management.

The younger pupils also showed that they could keep up with the older students - contributing well to both discussion and experiments.

Many thanks to all the staff and pupils involved - it was a great morning.
